By Anna What a riveting set of biographical stories mixed with careful psychological & sociological analysis and insight. This book really captivated my attention from the very first page. The author is not only a very gifted writer, but also obviously an expert on this sad social trend and how it is affecting society. How eye-opening to read such personal and traumatic stories. There is no way that you can read this book without getting thoroughly emotional as you read. Dr. William James is a Godsend for doing this kind of professional work and for writing this book! I totally related to so many of the mother’s stories as I am a single parent myself. I also have so many friends who have experienced the kind of troubles with their children that he describes throughout the book. If you are looking for a good intellectual sociological read then do yourself a favor and put this book on your fall reading list. 5 big stars!
