Although clouded, still something to gain for modern wives By Amazon Customer I read this book and felt like it was written for my mother, if she was born in 1977 instead of 1947. I took tremendous exception to much of was writtenI do have to say, however, that there were certain aspects of the book that I did put into use and from which i have gained excellent results from.The book is certainly geared for women in marriages with the man as the primary bread winner and who are probably christian. Since I am not in a marriage with either of those characteristics, I was not overly thrilled with much of what was addressed.Additionally, the whole time i read this book I couldn't help thinking that the "heroine" was a little bit stupid, lazy and selfish. (At one point she is outraged that she might have to put in 8 hrs of work in 3 days for her home based business). The husband is actually a perfect husband, she just doesn't recognize it. He is successful, supportive, loving, faithful and respectful throughout. It is only the changes in her that lead her to recognize this. This book is not written for women whose husbands have any flaws at all other than being unappreciated. In real life, most husbands will not react so predictably to the manipulations set forth in this book. However, I do feel the book has a good grasp of what men want, and therefore presents a woman with a very realistic idea of various ways she can improve her relationship.For example. One of the first topics addressed is that men need and crave appreciation. I did realize that I had stopped appreciating my husband for anything because I was so focused on what he didn't do. I did realize that when we were first together, I was probably very vocal about those things in him I appreciated, and that since our marriage had deteriorated, I didn't express my appreciation for what he does do. The day I read the book, I began starting to just verbalize appreciation. Funny thing, he has started to do the same too. And he started to do more things that I appreciate.Overall, a good book to read. If anything, it will at least make you stop and think about how you expect to treat your partner.
9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Awesome By Kindle Customer This book is truely a marriage saver! I wish I would have had this ten years ago as a brand new bride. I highly recommend this book to new and seasoned wives. Although I didn't have all the same issues as the character in the book, I did find myself saying oh my goodness I do that too! Wife school is witty, funny and really insightful. Julie you are an amazing woman to have written this book! I did exactly as the book instructs and saw results in my husband in less than two weeks. Granted we have a long way to go but everyone at home seems a lot happier.

The author has an amazing insight into marriage and what men really need from their wives and in turn how to get what you need from your husband as a wife. Having this information is priceless!!! As a child from a divorced home, I really wanted to learn how to make my marriage work, this book is a must read and has strengthened my relationship with my husband tremendously. I highly recommend it to all wives!!
