By Emily Rollins This book is fantastic, I wish that I had this the day I walked out of the doctors office with our daughters diagnosis. This is well organized, easy to understand and a terrific overview of steps you can take to help your child. Emily does a great job of giving enough information to be helpful but not overwhelming. It seems like everything surrounding autism is overwhelming and this was a welcome change. If you or someone you know is dealing with a recent diagnosis, this book will be a positive step forward to get them on a path to success. There is so much out there and now there is a finally a starting place that explores multiple paths for caretakers. Every child is different, so every approach will be different but I can't say enough how perfect it is to have multiple approaches reviewed in one place. So thankful Emily wrote this and I know this will be helpful to so many families!

Yes there is some medical jargon and it is explained beautifully in such a way that anyone could understand. This book is like a crash summary in most helpful tips on autism. I found several pages containing helpful anecdotes. She really does know her facts and it shows. She has the experience and it will be beneficial for any parent who comes home from a doctor visit feeling overwhelmed.

I am a certified behavior analyst, and after reading the sample (beginning of the book) I decided not to buy it as the claims the author makes in the introduction border on at least pseudoscience, possibly antiscience. If parents need help for their children on the spectrum, they should seek a qualified and credentialed behavior professional via the behavior analyst certification board at [...] that can provide scientifically validated treatment.
