Great for Sharing Family Memories By Jane Ault My husband and I bought Decades of Memories: Rediscover the 1940s by David Marks as a gift for his sister who is old enough to remember the ‘40s. Her husband was in the Navy in WW II. They have been sharing it with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She wrote, “THANK YOU JOHN, WE LOVE IT. IT IS SO INTERESTING”. In each chapter the text is brief enough to hold the reader’s attention, yet long enough to provide good background information and stir up lots of memories. The pictures are great and the Memory Prompt questions at the end of the chapter are really helpful. Their family is getting special personal history that would have been lost if they did not have the book. It’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever given. If you know anyone who can remember that decade, it is well worth getting.
