Growing up as a child, Nancy saw the obsession her Grandmother Peerman had with her Father to control, his Life. Nancy Grandfather Fischer had offered to buy a home for Art, Ruth and their children, but because of grandmothers Peerman interference, Dad refused Grandpa Fisher's offer. It was after that, the children's lives took a spiral turn down. Nancy suffered torment and abuse, and was shoved from pillar to post. But she learned feeling sorry for yourself can destroy a person. She also learned what common sense was at an early age, and how to survive. Nancy not only took control of her own circumstances, but her younger brothers and sisters as well. When Nancy came to the realization, nobody cared, including her own mother, Nancy had a passion in her heart, and took it upon herself to see her brothers and sister were taken care of. Be it begging, borrowing, or stealing. Seeing the smile on their faces, going to bed at night, with a full stomach, or watching their faces light up when they saw the shoes, or clothing Nancy stole from the goodwill store. Nancy never felt guilty. She called it survival. There was also a time when her mother's friend tried talk my mom into farming her children out to her friends, as housekeepers, babysitters, or companions. But the plan didn't come to fruition because of the love the kids had for one an other. If Nancy had to live her life over again, if need be, Nancy would do it again. The only thing she truly regrets is growing up to fast.

My husband's family had a rough up bringing, but this has made them the people they are today. I can't wait for books 2 and 3.
