About the Author
Georgena Eggleston, MA, trauma specialist and grief guide, became a complicated griever after burying the bodies of her brother, father-in-law, mother, father, and teenaged son in three and a half years.
After discovering where grief lived in her body through the Rubenfeld Synergy Method®, Georgena continued her deep personal work and became a certified synergist. Knowing we will all experience grief, Georgena teaches mindful grieving and intentional mourning so people have the tools to move beyond their grief. She is the mother of two sons and loves yoga and flower arranging. Georgena lives in Portland, Oregon.

I am deeply moved by it and I am in gratitude for ALL that Georgena has offered to me by writing A New Mourning and to all who will be enlightened by it! My heart goes out to Georgena and the journey she has traveled with grief. As a parent of a 17 year old, the death of a child is THE loss that parents talk about in whispers and we all ask ourselves, "How could I survive that?" Thank you, Georgena, for sharing your deepest darkest journey in such detail and wisdom and for giving us the tools needed to survive what seems like an unsurvivable loss. You have taught us HOW to move through grief. There is a way and it is by being with grief as it presents itself in our body through sensation. You have taught us how to ask our grief what it needs and to listen and trust the answer. I carry with me your words, "When we lean in and listen to grief, we can move through it." Healing is Abosolutely Possible By Keith Leon A New Mourning:Discovering the Gifts in Grief is a beautiful tool to assist you or someone you love in the grieving process. Georgena is a powerful example of what she teaches. When I was experiencing the hardest loss I've ever experienced in my life, she was right there for me. I highly recommend that you pick up a copy of this book for you, and a copy for someone you love and care about. If you don't know who the book is for yet, set it aside and when you need it to support someone in their time of need, you'll already have it. All the best to you and yours!

This beautiful and inspiring book gives the reader some simple tools for identifying different kinds of grief and offers simple tools for intentional mourning. It takes courage to face our grief in all of its forms and to move through each stage with awareness and practical guidance. This book embraces the process, shares wisdom and tools for healing that support the reader in discovering how to be transformed beyond the grief loop into renewed and radiant living.
