About the Author C. L. Peck is the author of the award-winning novel 'A Midnight Song', and the soon-to-be released children's books 'EMMA Volumes 1 & 2'. Mrs. Peck is celebrating the release of her first adult Christian novel, 'The Last Call'. According to the author it is the first of several novels. She currently is finishing a secular novel and has started work on two additional Christian novels. She hopes 'The Last Call' will have as profound an impact on her audience as it did her during the writing process. She humbly acknowledges that God is the true author: "The ideas all came from the Big Guy upstairs." She also stated, "God would give me just enough information to write a chapter. After that, I was stumped. I would ask, 'Okay, now what?' and within no time He responded. And so it went, chapter after chapter." Mrs. Peck is the proud mother of her two adult children, Casey and Alissa. She lives on the Central Coast of California with her husband, Tony, who also pitches in and puts his years of experience in the field of journalism to good use as her editor. Her elderly parents reside with the couple, along with a plethora of pets. The latest addition to the family is a collection of fluffy chicks who currently reside in their kitchen -- in a brooder, of course. You can read about her novice backyard chicken adventures in her blog, 'A Chick's Life'.

For me it has some particularly inspirational messages that offer all of us what this world lacks so much of, hope.I loved how the story emphasized the importance of knowing and using God's word against our enemy. The fact that it is literally used to defeat the forces of evil was awesome. For me, the fact that the author created real-life, flawed human characters who experienced different levels and degrees of emotions and faith was inspiring.I thought the ending was great! Without giving too much away, it reminded me of the interaction between God and Satan in the book of Job in the Old Testament. God had the utmost faith in his child and was not afraid of His enemy's schemes to destroy Him and His children. Even if that child didn't believe that they were up for the task, God knows what we are truly capable of, and He has the utmost faith in us.I disagree with the reviewer who felt that the author was trying to create a second Savior. My impression was that the character and the situation the reviewer is referring to was facing their ultimate test. A test that they once, at least in their eyes, had failed to pass. This character was focused on their own limitations and not God's ability to bring them victory through His power. Instead of being a savior, this character used prayer and scripture to lean on their heavenly father and savior for their spiritual survival. They discovered who they were, in Christ, rather than being another Christ.Sometimes God uses the least likely character, one the rest of us view as weak and incapable, to carry out the most difficult task. To me, this character exemplifies exactly that! I for one can definitely relate!

Nope By SignoftheTimes The story started out well with a group of survivors during the great tribulation fighting a spiritual and physical battle with the Army of Darkness. However, the ending totally ruined it for me because it went against what the Bible teaches. Suffice it to say, we do not need another savior...Jesus paid it all. Not cool and not recommended.
