By Ebienic All too often adoptive parents aren't really sure about how to adopt, what adoption professionals are really looking for in adoptive parents, or how adoption has changed in the past 50 years or so. With a special emphasis on domestic infant adoption, Dewey is very candid about how adoption processes have changed over his 30+ year practice, what will knock you out of consideration entirely, and what will just greatly lengthen your wait. I like his more conversational style, and anecdotes sprinkled throughout that really helped illustrate how it all works. If you are considering adoption (any kind, but particularly infant adoption) this book is a must-read.

We're not sure if this is the path for us and we were looking for a basic "how to" guide to give us a solid foundation.This book proved to be just what we were looking for -- easy to understand, the basics explained and letting us know what we could expect so we can make an informed decision. It is written by someone who knows what they are talking about.Definitely worth it. . .
