When Collin surveys the slaves acquired from the Kursh as spoils of battle, he sees a beautiful young Aelfir woman. As prophesied, when their son is a year old he and Tsha lead the vastly outnumbered armies of the Free Peoples into battle against the entire invading Kursh nation. The Kursh army is utterly defeated because Collin and Tsha, alone, are able to destroy all the Kursh commanders. They fight expertly and bravely, but finally fall beneath the weapons of their enemies.

Methodical Fantasy Adventure By Amazon Customer Fred Waiss has presented an excellent first serving of a new fantasy world set in a more realistic backdrop and detailed culture. This allows the few fantasy elements, such as magic, to feel more mystical and unique. As his first published book, Fred shows promise in bridging the gap between short stories and novels. Slower paced than many books, this author utilizes his masterful use of the English language to ensure that his cultural and character details are fully thought out as he paints his vision of this new setting.Prophecies lead the barbaric Kursh and the more noble Free People to a junction in time that will cause the change in the power over the land and the disputes within. It is inevitable that the end is near for one group or the other and both know what they need to do to ensure their own people survive.However, Collin knows his own death is critical to the prophecy and he has spent his life preparing for it with trained fighting skills and battle techniques. He is a confident and strong leader who struggles with the curse of the prophecy lingering over his head every day. Sacrifices will have to be made to keep the Kursh from destroying the free lands, including his family and himself.

By blondeerin This book in its shortened length and building storyline actually opened my eyes to fantasy fiction. The characters are believable and the storyline keeps you reading until the very end. I could absolutely see additional books for this family and hope to very soon! Great book!
