The Battle on the Technodrome is Won, But the War is Not Over By Katherine Chan The Battle on the Technodrome may have been won, but the Turtles have still not won the war. The IDW's TMNT volume 12 follows the story after Donnie's brutal run in with Bebop and Rocksteady - spoiler alert! - Donnie is alive! But still is far from being well and himself. We begin to see his recovery, as well as get to see how every is coping with the ordeals they've come across in the past few issues. The action has slowed down a bit from the previous issues, there was a chunk of "recap" in one of the issues, and we're given just a tiny bit of plot movement, but it was still overall a good issue. Most of the art in this volume was done by Mateus Santolouco with some additional art done in chapter 3 by Charles Paul Wilson, Dan Duncan, Sophie Campbell, and Cory Smith. Santolouco's art is stunning as ever, and while I'm not totally in love with his baby faced versions of the turtles, I love his action scene layouts, his renditions of Honeycutt and Metalhead, and the sheer amount of detail he puts into the illustrations. As usual, there were extra art pieces included at the end of the book. These were illustrated by Mateus Santolouco, Kevin Eastman, Simon Bisley, Adam Gorham, Zach Howard (love his Metalhead rendition also!!!), Alberto Ponticelli, and Valerio Schiti.Overall, while this was a slower issue, it was still a great book. This would be a great addition to any TMNT fan's collection.

The stories, the characters & the art are all great. I never read the original comic book, I started with the first cartoons. So for those who are really faithful to the original comic book I wouldn't know how it measures up for them, but for fans who've seen all the other incarnations, this is a great one.

A Must-Have Continuation of IDW's TMNT By Blood Island Picking up immediately on the heels of Volume 11's shocking conclusion, Volume 12 dives right into the fallout of the Turtles' attack on General Krang and the Technodrome. Both the Foot Clan and the Turtles have been dealt crippling blows, but both almost immediately begin to rebuild what they have lost. One of the Turtles' lives is in the balance, while Oroku Saki begins a partnership with a surprising ally... both sides are hellbent on Vengeance. This is not to be missed.
