By Pen Name Update: I really do believe half of these reviews are from friends, people she knows or reviews to gain a free book. ------ Ok. So I am a few pages past the middle of this book, and have to say that I'm really disappointed in it. I liked her first book but with this book the word SYMPATHY & BRAG is written all over it. This woman brags about the the cars she has & the price and architecture of the home she had at least once every 3 pages. Talks about herself as godly and how others screwed her over. She also doesn't talk about how SHE created this life, but talks about how EVERYONE should have sympathy for her. I do not believe this book is any close to a TRUE representation of how she REALLY lived. I feel screwed out of my money because you can tell THIS BOOK is her almost last attempt to either 1)gain sympathy or 2)desperate to pay bills. All in all I do not recommend this book, you would rather read TRUE stories from surviving women who have REALLY escaped alive.

What bothered me most was her son being subjected to her selfish ways. We all make mistakes but it's obvious as much as she complains about using her body to get money that's what she reverts to .. Not to mention that you on radio saying yeah ingot that after vma's or whatever award show! I respect the hustle but sad that a beautiful woman still isn't respecting herself first!! But she making money and hope her son is not emotionally scarred

Mitchll The book was well written and definitely better than the disaster that was the vixen diaries. I liked how candid she was, I was shocked that she blew through the millions of dollars she had initially earned and ended up broke again. She didn't try to paint herself as perfect and I think that's admirable. However, she did try to paint herself as a victim and I wasn't seeing it. She painted McCray in the worst light possible. Some of the abuse allegations seemed exaggerated to me, it's obvious that he used her and though that was wrong, what man would give his all when he's married to a woman who has said she will remain at the beck and call of another man? She put this stipulation that her husband has to deal with that foolishness but complained when he dated other women...lol! Of course he's going to date other women and do whatever he wants to do, no man in his right mind would put up with that. I also believe the physical abuse was more mutual than she says, for God's sake the woman slapped the crap out of him in public because he said he didn't like Wayne's music, it's just absurd!. As usual, there was a lot of talk about Wayne in the book, nothing new, same stuff rehashed from the book she wrote about him and she almost seems proud to make the men in her life second to wayne when he has never done that for her. He's never referred to her as more than a friend yet she has all these grand displays of love for him, it's all so one sided and it's sad that she sabotages her relationships to be on standby for a man who clearly has no interest in actually being with her.The true victim in this book is her son, I can't imagine the dysfunction he's witnessed and the merry go round of men she has had in and out of his life. Getting attached to these men only for them to disappear, dealing with her spiraling depressions when these relationships ended. I think she loves her child very much but I can't see how he won't have serious issues. His mother always dropping everything to run off and be with whatever man she was dating at the moment, physical abuse he witnessed, Karrine isolating herself in despair leaving him to his own devices while she wallowed in misery at her latest breakup, even worse was him going into foster care because she had slit her wrist after breaking up with some guy....and it goes on and on. McCray claimed that she would physically abuse her son but given the animosity between them he could have just made that up. Whatever the case Karrine has shown growth since her first book in 2005 and she's an excellent writer. I hope one day she can truly settle down and find love with a man who loves her just as much as she loves him and I hope she realizing that putting Wayne over the men in her life is foolish and self destructive. I wish her the best, the fake victim mentality took a lot away from what would've been a good book.
